Part of the The Coming Spiritual Earthquake series, preached for Growing Together Radio

I must warn you, this is not a safe message. It is a radical call for commitment beyond your comfort zone. In order to be a disciple you must make a great sacrifice of your time to the ministry. This is not something you can do in a correspondence course a few hours a month. This is a seriously thought out decision, in which you choose to rub shoulders with the discipler in order to absorb his philosophy, practices and way of life. We are looking for a few good men and a few good women who will make the ministry to Christ their priority in life. Jesus is calling you, “Follow Me and I will make you fishers of men.”

The criminal was about to forsake (leave behind) his old life on that cross
A disciple is to consider himself a _____________ man to his old life
To carry your cross means that nothing is as important as Jesus
Anything that stands in the way of the cause of Christ should be ____________
There can be no question that sometimes a literal cross may await the disciple. Perhaps there will be persecution, torture or even death. It happened to them, it is happening today. Even so, we must follow Jesus. This is what we are calling men and women to today. We are looking for a few good men and a few good women who will make the ministry to Christ their priority in life.
