My Big Fat Irrational Faith ()

Dennis Kreiss, November 4, 2017
Part of the Overcoming Your Fears - Sharing Your Faith series, preached for Growing Together Radio

I want to tell you why I have given my life, my possessions, my energy and everything I have to Jesus Christ. I want to tell you why I believe that the Almighty God is worth following.
Myth - "faith" is a ______________ leap into the dark unknown
I believe because my heart is drawn toward God
Romans 1:19 – God has revealed himself to _____
99% of the world believes in some version of God
I believe because it makes so much sense to me
Something about The Bible really made sense to me
It put the pieces of life’s puzzle together
The difficulties of life don’t make any sense without the Bible
Romans 8:28 “All things work together ….”
I believe because of the evidence
_________________, the Bible is unerringly correct
No other religious book can say that
__________ - Every one so far has been fulfilled 100% correct
Jesus to fulfilled 333 specific prophecies during his life
Try to predict the future for an expectant mother
Baby’s sex,
Place of birth,
Birth doctor,
Occupation,
Best friend,
Greatest achievement,
Manner of death
Place of death.
The chances - 1 in 10 to the _____ power
8 prophecies that Jesus fulfilled:
___________________ 712 BC Isaiah 7:14
Birthplace Bethlehem 750 BC Micah 5:2
Messenger John - 397 BC Malachi 3:1
Triumphal Entry 487 BC Zechariah 9:9
Betrayed by a friend 1000 BC Psalm 41:9
Sold for 30 Pieces of Silver 487 BC Zechariah 11:12
Nailed to the __________ 1000 BC Psalm 22:16
He would Rise from the Dead 1000 BC Psalm 16:10
And those are just 8 of the 333 prophecies that Jesus fulfilled in his life. The mere chance that one person could fulfill even half of those is humanly impossible. It couldn’t happen by chance. It could only happen if there was a God who is in control. And that’s why I believe.
