Originally I was going to call this book “Survival Guide in a Permissive Society,” but in a very short time, a chain of events unfolded which led me to believe that we had crossed the line from permissive to hostile! In case you have been on vacation on the dark side of the moon and don’t know what on earth is going on, let me fill you in; our entire civilization is in crisis! The establishment, our secular society, and who knows who else are now on hostile terms with Christianity! While some scoff at Christians and suggest that we have a persecution complex, Christians are being targeted more often than is comfortable,. Let’s face it; we are facing a new Holy War against Christianity. There is a radical element in our society that is doing everything it can to legislate our faith out of existence. The angry atheist wants us out of the classroom, out of the stateroom and, if we have any faith at all, they want it practiced behind closed doors. From the flop house to the Whitehouse, Christianity is facing challenges unthought-of a generation ago. This is not your grandmother’s America! The “tolerate everything” philosophy is putting your world in serious jeopardy. How will you survive the coming wave of Christian oppression? How will you respond to violence aimed at your family? Or as the book of Judges comments about the cultural chaos of their day; “Everyone did what was right in his own eyes” (Judges 21:25). You must prepare yourself, your family and your church for a worst case scenario, just in case it comes… and believe me; the nightmare on Elm Street is coming to a town near you! When that day comes, you can bet there will be an inordinate amount of concerned conversation about the need to compromise, because the need to “go along to get along” is the only way possible we can protect the church and keep the family safe. It will be supremely difficult to go against the flow, but it must be done, and you must do it! If you do not, our cause is lost, our principles will be compromised, and it will only hasten oppression of true believers. This is a book about motivating ordinary people like you to step up and do extraordinarily heroic things for Jesus. We are looking for the kinds of heroes we only read about. Sooner or later, God is going to ask ordinary people like you to stand tall and do extraordinary things. It may mean that someone may one day ask you, “Are you a Christian?” And you too may have to take a bullet for your faith.
