God is not interested in popularity. If you or I were God, we might have created a strategy of popularity. It might be something like this: First you must get in good with those who have the influence in society. Second, you must not be too demanding of your followers nor too radical in your message. Third: Regardless of your second point, don’t ever make the mistake of being too inclusive. Jesus did none of these things. He had no interest in power or popularity. Jesus not only approached the despised of society, but he actually courted them.
