Jesus observed the Sabbath. The Sabbath is one of the holiest Jewish institutions. It is a solemn covenant between God and Israel. The Sabbath was meant to be a day of blessing and Joy. It guaranteed that a worker would get at least one day off. It assured that the family would spend one whole day together. But its main purpose was for a day of worship.
